During the registration process, you will have the option of booking accommodation at one of three hotels and of selecting one of two trips. Details of these are provided below.
Early registration is 18,000 ISK for faculty and 10,000 ISK for students (currency converter here).  Early registration ends on April 23rd, after which prices will go up 20% (21,600 ISK and 12,000 ISK respectively).


Radisson Blu Hotel Saga – MAP

v/Hagatorg, 107 Reykjavík Radisson Blu Saga Hotel, Reykjavik is a luxurious 4-star property conveniently located only 4.8km (3mi) from the centre of Reykjavik. Guests of the hotel will have easy access to the University of Iceland and National Museum of Iceland. Reykjavik City Hall and Reykjavik Pond are also not far away. Hotel customers are offered the following room facilities: direct-dial phone, in-room safe and coffee/tea maker. In addition there is minibar and desk in the rooms.  Bathroom amenities include shower/tub combination and hair dryer.  The in-room entertainment facilities at this welcoming hotel include satellite television service, cable television service and pay movies. Guests are sure to appreciate wireless high-speed Internet access (complimentary). Housekeeping services are also offered.

Hotel Frón – MAP

Laugavegur 22a, 101 Reykjavík Hotel Frón is located on Reykjavík’s main downtown shopping street. This four floor, 94 room hotel, with elevator, provides its guest with a selection of accommodation, such as single and double rooms, studio apartments as well as larger apartments. All rooms have a bathroom, mini bar, telephone, 

television and a safe. All apartments have kitchen facilities, a refrigerator, microwave oven and a cooking stove. The hotel offers a remote internet connection and DVD players.

Student Hostel – MAP

Hringbraut 29, 101 Reykjavík

Student hostel is located in central Reykjavik on campus at the University of Iceland. Open to everyone during the summer months! The hostel is within a short walking distance from downtown Reykjavik and it‘s shopping street Laugavegur as well as the main landmarks in Reykjavik, i.e. Hallgrimskirkja, Harpa and the Pearl (Perlan). Student hostel is on campus at the University of Iceland, with various service such as the University Bookstore, Bookstore Café, Hama (canteen) and the Student Cellar (bar). Gamli Gardur hostel has 43 twin rooms, with city or garden views. All rooms have shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. The building is non smoking. Complimentary WiFi access in public areas.

Conference services is offering two trips through the registration process:

Volcanic Landscape horseback riding tour – 18 June 

Riding tour in a scenic landscape full of contrasts, lava landscape with pseudo craters and mountain view. Meet the Icelandic horse and experience the tölt.

Time: 14:00. Note! Pick up at your hotel / guesthouse between 13:15 and 13:45

Duration: About 2,5 hours, including introduction, preparation and riding. Approximately 1,5 hours on horse back. Pick up and drop off not included in duration.

Included: Transfer, approx. 2,5 hours horse back riding & guidance.        

Golden Circle tour & Efstidalur – 21 June

Our first stop will be at Þingvellir National Park, where the Icelandic Parliament was founded over 1000 years ago. At Þingvellir you will see how the earth is ever so slowly pulling apart along the North-America and Eurasian tectonic plates and you will be able to stand where the Viking settlers stood centuries ago to edict national laws. From there we head to Efstidalur farm for lunch and Farm to Table Presentation and Tasting. After lunch we continue to Gullfoss and Geysir, Gullfoss waterfall, which many consider to be the queen of Icelandic waterfalls as it is both high and mighty and stumbles dramatically in a deep gorge. After Gullfoss waterfall we will head for Geysir geothermal area in Haukadalur where you can see geysers, hot springs, steam vents and eerie blue algae. Strokkur is one of the largest and most powerful geysers and erupts almost every five minutes. After Geysir we will be heading back to Reykjavik.
