Getting from the airport
Whenever your plane lands in the international airport in Keflavík, there will be a bus waiting to take you to Reykjavík. The ride takes about 50 minutes. Two companies operate on this route; see further information on Flybus and Grayline.
The University of Iceland is just southwest of the big pond (Tjörnin) in the center of Reykjavík. The closest hotel is Radisson Blue Saga Hotel, which is virtually on the university campus, but many cheaper options can be found in the center of Reykjavík. Check booking.com to find out more.
The local currency is the Icelandic krona (ISK) and its value against the Euro is about 1/137. Major credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. Please note that there is no tipping in Iceland but prices are
(unfortunately) very high. Do not buy still water unless you really have to because tap water in Iceland is perfectly suitable for drinking.
